Elections Hui aa iwi
In the lead-up to the trustee elections in March, three aa-iwi hui will be held for whaanau. These hui are an opportunity to bring whaanau up to date on what is happening, provide clarity around the election process, and share key information ahead of election day. Learn more below

Hui 1 – December | Understanding the Election Process
Your voice matters — let’s start with the basics.
This first hui is about setting a strong foundation for our upcoming Board of Trustees elections. We will walk whaanau through the full election process, including who is eligible to vote, why voting matters, and how to cast a vote. This is a chance to ask questions, gain clarity, and ensure everyone understands how decisions about our iwi governance are made. An informed whaanau is a strong whaanau.

Hui 2 – January | Registration & Voting Readiness
Registering correctly means your vote counts.
This hui focuses on helping whaanau fully understand the iwi registration process and what is required to be eligible to vote. We will explain the criteria for registration, how to complete the registration form, and the key information needed so there are no barriers to participation. By the end of this hui, whaanau should feel confident that their registration is complete and their vote is ready to be counted.

Hui 3 – February | Standing for the Board
Leadership begins with service and responsibility.
This hui is for whaanau who are considering standing as a trustee, or who wish to nominate someone they believe can lead our iwi forward. We will outline the requirements, criteria, and skill sets needed to be a Trustee, along with the responsibilities that come with the role. This is also a space for potential candidates to share their experience, values, and aspirations — and for whaanau to hear directly from those who wish to serve.
